In a significant event for the development of the mining industry in the province, an investment contract was recently signed between the state-owned company CAMYEN S.E. and the renowned Argentine company REXYS S.A., part of the Meridion del Plata group, backed by Canadian and Israeli capital.

The signing ceremony was attended by Governor Raúl Jalil, Vice Governor Rubén Dusso, Minister of Mining Marcelo Murua, and representatives from both companies, all of whom supported this important agreement that promises to drive economic development in the region.

The governor emphasized the importance of this investment for the province’s economic growth and job creation, noting that this strategic alliance between CAMYEN S.E. and REXYS S.A. opens new opportunities for the mining sector in Catamarca. "I had the opportunity to visit the company during a trip to Israel, and I truly believe that working with them will be beneficial for job creation and sector development in our province," he stated.

The contract’s main objective is to explore more than 7,800 hectares of mining areas in Antofagasta de la Sierra, where copper and gold deposits are expected to be found. REXYS S.A. will have the opportunity to prospect and explore these areas for no less than five years, with the option to exploit the mineral resources found there.

The agreement underscores the importance of creating job opportunities for the local community. In accordance with legal provisions and Ministerial Resolution No. 498/14, it was established that 70% of the employees hired by REXYS S.A. for this project must be residents of Catamarca. Additionally, the initiative seeks to boost the growth of industries linked to mining, encouraging the participation of local suppliers.

REXYS S.A.: A Leader in the Mining Ecosystem

A key aspect of this strategic alliance is that REXYS S.A. will carry out exploration and exploitation efforts in collaboration with another company from the Meridion del Plata group, Tamar Mining S.A. This company specializes in research, exploration, surveying, prospecting, and the exploitation of mining properties and deposits in all their forms. Notably, Tamar Mining S.A. has a strong female presence, particularly in its executive and leadership roles.

The representatives of REXYS S.A. expressed their enthusiasm and commitment to providing innovative technological solutions in the mining sector, prioritizing industry benefits while promoting sustainable environmental practices.

Catamarca Builds the Future

The significance of this contract goes beyond economic aspects, as it aims to promote responsible and sustainable mining practices that will benefit the province in various economic and social dimensions. Moreover, the financial resources generated by this activity will remain within the region, creating a positive impact on the local economy and strengthening the social fabric.

This contract represents a crucial first step in attracting further investors and expanding development opportunities within the province’s mining sector. The commitment to responsible mining with tangible benefits for the community is a shared vision of both

CAMYEN S.E. and REXYS S.A.

In conclusion, this agreement marks a significant step forward, aligning with the values of responsible mining and a forward-looking approach. The partnership between CAMYEN S.E. and the investing company promotes a sustainable approach to the development of the mining industry in Catamarca, generating opportunities and enhancing the well-being of the local community.
